Açaí (ah-sigh-ee) is a large palm tree indigenous to the Amazon River basin. Açaí fruit is traditionally utilized as food and medicine containing a natural spectrum of antioxidants, including the pigmented anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins. Açaí also contains healthy omega fats, protein and fiber. To preserve the fragile antioxidants, Açaí is first deseeded, then the pulp and juice is flash frozen and freeze-dried, retaining all the natural goodness of the fruit in the convenience of a powder. Açaí POW-der contains approximately 47%- 49% good omega fats by weight.
